Overview: The objectives of this training are to understand that distractions tend to overwhelm us due to:
Procrastination if left unchecked can turn into a bad habit which could eventually be very hard to break. You may not realize that the habit of procrastination can cost you a lot of negativity; therefore, this training will help you to identify and eradicate distractions from your work environment. The following are some of the most popular excuses why people lapsed into the procrastination habit:
Although procrastinators are capable of using every excuse in the book, there are compelling underlying influences that can cause you to procrastinate. Exploring these contributing factors may allow you to break this negative cycle. Most people who consciously want to avoid working on a task, in a group or project will usually form some sort of comfort zone. One of the more popular comfort zones is hiding behind the phrase, "I don't know." By giving this type of answer for anything, it almost always deters any follow-up actions or comments from others; thus, effectively keeping you from having to deal with conflict or finding solutions. Another popular excuse used as a comfort zone is a lack of supporting tools for the job. A lot of people use this as a great excuse for not wanting to do anything they don't desire to do. This training will give you the tools and strategies to help employees rid themselves of procrastination and develop alternative behaviors that allow them to be better engaged and perform at a high level. Why should you Attend: Workplace distractions reduce productivity by as much as 40 percent or more due to employees spending valuable time, energy and resources on projects, busy work, and activities, which do not add value or drive revenues. For example, the lack of focus and increase in workplace distractions have costs employers an estimated 28 billion wasted work hours a year, and close to $1 trillion to the U.S. economy. In this training, I will cover 8 common barriers to focus. The truth is, when you fail to get things done it is due to a lack of self-control and setting ineffective goals. Unless there are circumstances out of your control. It's easy to give in to distractions and interruptions, which can result in disaster. Fortunately, developing self- control or discipline is a learned skill that can turn things around if you commit to it. Self-control is rooted in your desires. This training will show you how to find out what those desires are and how to measure them against what you are focused on in life. Remember, whatever you focus on will expand. Too often, goal setting is more of a chore that we do each year, (sales, performance, staffing) and for many, the results are lacking. A major part of getting focused, productive and profitable is knowing what to say "No" to at work. Here are several reasons why 88% of people fail at setting goals:
In this course, you discover how to live in the present without worrying about where you'll be a few months or years from now. You can have the luxury of doing what's natural, not what's forced upon you by your goals and also achieve your performance goals at work. You will learn that the biggest benefit of breaking free from the need to set goals is to focus on the present and savor it. This training will also help you to simplify your workspace by clearing the clutter, taking it slow, going with the flow, doing things effortlessly, prioritizing, and developing the skills needed to delegate.
