Description
Join Stephanie Weiss, Amanda DeMaris and Andrew Campbell as they present an afternoon of magnificent works for voice and piano. Ravel's Scheherazade sets the atmospheric poetry of Tristan Kingsor in a musical representation of the heroine and narrator of One Thousand and One Nights, the legendary collection of Middle Eastern folk tales. This evocative music has been described as moving from rich voluptuousness and gentle lyricism to languid sensuousness. We will also feature a performance of Genius Child, Ricky Ian Gordon's setting of the poetry of Langston Hughes, which refrences a wide variety of American musical styles. An afternoon of music not to be missed! Notice about purchasing tickets: All ticket sales are ONLINE ONLY. There will be no in-person sales at the event. Please purchase tickets in advance.
