We are excited to announce a VERY special, sneak preview event at the Byrd Park Pump House. Admission will be limited and tickets will be sold in advance only.

Your ticket purchase includes the season preview performance, in a very intimate setting, with Starrene Foster offering introductions to the selection of presented works. Audience members will receive a tour of the pump house prior to the performance and will have an opportunity to mingle with the dancers post performance. There will be a champagne toast and treats. Your ticket purchase also includes a VIP ticket to Starr Foster Dance's production at the Firehouse Theatre November 30th, December 1st, 2nd and 3rd. You may choose which performance you would like to attend. (This ticket is also transferable to our April 2024 Firehouse Theatre production in Richmond, if you are unable to attend at the end of this year)

Admission to this event is $75.00 a person. Advanced sales only.

We have created a two-tier ticket option, if you are able to give a little extra. Proceeds from all ticket sales go to support the company dance artists.

This event run is approximately an hour and half.

ABOUT THE PUMP HOUSE:

The historic Byrd Park Pump House was constructed between 1881-1883 and is located at the Three-Mile Locks of the James River and Kanawha Canal in Richmond, Virginia. The downstairs contained a water-powered pumping station, while the upstairs featured a large open-air pavilion that hosted lavish events and dances until the mid-1920’s. This event will be held in the upstairs in the open-air pavilion.

A FEW IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW

• The Pump House is located at 1708 Pump House Drive, not far from the Carillon in Byrd Park, Boulevard Bridge, North Bank Trail, and the James River.

• There are no restroom facilities, running water, or temperature control/HVAC, and the building is not accessible to those with mobility issues. There is a portable loo, outside the walk, and we will provide drinking water and hand sanitizer.

• The City of Richmond places a maximum limit in the building (wearing hardhats) at any given time. The Pump House provides these special hats for the tour.

• Is the building haunted? The Friends of Pump House say “ the best they can tell, no”. We are aware of stories floating around on the internet stating otherwise. If it is, we hope they join us in dance.

• Tickets are not refundable.
