AVSOMC: Jack Cimo

Description

American classical guitarist Jack Cimo joins the Antelope Valley Symphony Orchestra to perform Joaquin Rodrigo’s Fantasia para un gentilhombre. Commissioned by legendary guitarist Andres Segovia, this Spanish guitar showcase adapts dances of 17th century composer Gaspar Sanz. Also on the program are two monuments of Viennese classicism: Ludwig van Beethoven’s Fidelio overture—the fourth and final overture to his only opera—and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s stirring Symphony No. 35 in D Major (“Haffner”).
