Description

This Is How We Get Better is a new play written by former Culver-Stockton College student Courtney Deeds who received her BFA in Theatre and minors in English and History in Spring 2022. This play was written during that spring semester as part of the playwriting class. This Is How We Get Better grapples with the ideas of friendship, love, and the afterlife. Three roommates arrive home from the funeral of their fourth roommate. As they try to deal with the loss and regrets of things said and left unsaid, the ghost of their previous roommate seems to be trapped in the apartment with them. She tries to figure out her predicament and, at the same time, help her “former” roommates cope. This dark comedy contains adult language and subject matter.
