What does it mean to be of this place? What is your origin story here in Waterville? And where have you built bridges in your community?

Join us for a participatory workshop to move, make, and create as we explore these questions connected to Of This Place - a performance project directed by Matthew Cumbie. In this workshop, we will share stories and use movement as a way to find and create connections between ourselves and each other. No previous experience with dance or theater needed: ALL are welcome!Those who participate in this workshop will be invited to join the performance of Of This Place in February. In order to perform, you must be available for the following dates (all will take place at the Gordon Center for Creative and Performing Arts on Colby College’s campus) 

Important Dates (All of these will take place at the Gordon Center for Creative and Performing Arts)
Saturday, February 3 from 11am to 12pm (Staging Rehearsal)
Tuesday, February 6 OR Wednesday, February 7 at 6pm (Tech/Dress Rehearsal, PICK ONE)
Thursday, February 8 at 6pm (Final Dress Rehearsal)
Friday, February 9 at 6pm (Show I)
Saturday, February 10 at 1pm and 6pm (Show II and Show III)

You do not need to attend multiple Community Workshops to participate in the performance. 

Of This Place surfaces and celebrates stories of Waterville and Colby College, weaving together dance, theater, projection, and original music to create an original performance that will be performed in the new Gordon Center for Creative and Performing Arts.
