"Music For Dancers" Featuring Guest Artist Georges Lamman with the musical assistance of Bishr Hegazy. In Las Vegas USA The Workshop - Arab Music: A guide for listening and understanding In utilizing a few pieces of music (live) Georges Lamman will demonstrate a number of integral points within each piece of music that may support the dancer in the creation of movement that expresses the music. Georges Lamman will point out some aspects of musical form, rhythm and rhythmic changes, maqam (scales), their use in building emotion through modulation and perhaps a bit on improvisation by the musical soloist — the rough form of an improvisation and how, through the modulation process, emotion and the phrases rise and fall to return again to the main body of the piece.
