Intro to Sketch Comedy Sundays 

Intro to Sketch Comedy at M.i.'s Westside Comedy Theater will introduce students to a variety of sketch comedy styles for the stage. The class will incorporate a collaborative writer's room atmosphere where students will pitch, write, and re-write sketches together. Your instructor will provide helpful personalized feedback based on years of experience, and you should leave with a packet of 8-12 finished sketches. This 8-week course meets for 3 hours, and DOES NOT include a show.

TIMMY TAMISIEA has been writing and performing comedy for over 15 years. He has a BA from Marquette University in Performing Arts and an MFA in Screenwriting and Directing from Columbia College Chicago. Timmy was a monologue intern for Conan. His two-man sketch group We Have An Uncle Dick has been featured at The Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival, The Los Angeles Comedy festival, UCB LA, Second City Chicago, and iO in Chicago and in Los Angeles. Timmy was also the head writer for the critically-acclaimed web sketch series, Friday Nite Bytes.

Prerequisites: A laptop or tablet with wireless internet connectivity
