"7 Inner City Seniors in Chicago encounter a new Substitute Teacher who unexpectedly impacts their lives. In a world where people are still judged by the color of their skin, what does it take to move up in a city that only pulls you down?" Miseducation is a new original musical by Nattalyee Randall (book, lyrics, and music) that is inspired by her experiences with the students Nattalyee has met while substitute teaching and tutoring in New York City. With musical influences ranging from Pasek and Paul and Lin Manuel Miranda, to Kendrick Lamar, Nattalyee has infused contemporary musical theater with slam poetry.
