Tasha Griffith, Instructor Description
Experience the transformation of soft fluffy wool into thick sturdy fabric, using nothing more than water, a little soap, and a lot of elbow grease. We'll start with the basics in this workshop; making coasters and experimenting with color and design in felt. Come to this session only, or pair it with another felting workshop for more ideas in working with wool. You'll leave this workshop with a couple of small felt items, a solid understanding of how felting works, and lots of ideas for future projects! Note: For success in this class you should have moderate hand and arm strength, and be prepared to put some energy into your felt—it can be a good workout! Students should bring: Comfortable clothing and shoes which can get wet, and two old towels. You may want to bring a plastic bag to take wet work home in. Optional: You are also welcome to bring any wool/alpaca fibers you are curious about felting (these should be in roving or batt form). Supplies included. Age 16+. Minors permitted with parent or guardian. Both minor and adult must purchase tickets for and attend workshop. Additional Information
