 Inner Circle Bio

To anyone who’s familiar with the band’s 20-year-plus history in the reggae field and their immense popularity around the world-there’s much more to Inner Circle than what meets the eye. Indeed, this Jamaican-bred, Grammy winning quintet is one of the world’s most respected reggae groups with a long string of successes stretching back to the mid-70′s.

A Tribute to Jacob "Killer" Miller, a former lead singer for reggae group Inner Circle

Inner Circle is a Jamaican reggae group. The group was originally called The Inner Circle Band and formed in 1968. The band achieved major success in the 1970s with Jacob Miller as their lead singer, but split up after his death in 1980. They reformed in 1986 and had a major hit with the 1987 song "Bad Boys", which serves as the theme song for Fox Network's long-running television program COPS. The band is known for blending pop and rock with reggae.

Jacob Miller (May 4, 1952 – March 23, 1980) was a Jamaican reggae artist, who first recorded with Clement Dodd. While pursuing a prolific solo career, he became the lead singer for reggae group Inner Circle with whom he recorded until his death in a car accident at the age of 27.
Jacob Miller was known as one of Jamaica's most distinctive vocal stylists, with a trademark vibrato he used to accent his performance.
