Overview

In these plays, we see the challenges and conflicts that Henry faces as he tries to maintain his power and deal with rebellions. The plays also focus on the character of Prince Hal, who eventually becomes King Henry V. It's a fascinating exploration of politics, power, and the complexities of leadership.

Henry IV continues our season-long series Muse of Fire: Shakespeare's Wars of the Roses cycle - nine plays in 25 weeks!

NOTE that Parts One & Two will be presented on alternate evenings, giving you the opportunity to see both parts in one weekend!

Admission is free. A donation of $10 - $15 per person is suggested to cover the cost of producing these performances. Feel free to bring a lawn chair, a cushion, a blanket, or rent one of our lawn chairs in our VIP section.

Well-behaved canine companions on leashes are welcome.

If you have difficulty hearing, please let us know at info@montfordparkplayers.org for front-row seating.

We've had some issues with Google and Apple Maps sending our visitors to the wrong location, so please put:

into your map or GPS. This will avoid sending you down a narrow back street to our actor parking lot.

However, if anyone in your party has mobility issues, you can park in our accessible lot at 99 Jersey St, Asheville NC 28801. Our staff and actors can assist you into the seating area.

Not Allowed

No smoking in the amphitheatre area.

Additional Info

Limited free parking. Additional free parking at Tempie Avery Community Center, 34 Pearson Drive, and at Asheville Chamber of Commerce, 36 Montford Avenue. On-street parking is NOT allowed on the shoulders of the narrow roads within the Center complex so emergency vehicles can access the amphitheatre. These are marked as Fire Lanes and are subject to towing at your expense. Rain Policy - if a light sprinkle, we play on. If a sudden thunderstorm (common in the mountains), we'll hold the show and let the rain pass over. We only cancel in the event of a hard, all-night rain. We don't cancel before 7:30 pm, so feel free to bring rain gear and an umbrella if rain is in the forecast!
