Austin is an aspiring screenwriter, while his brother Lee is a drifter and common thief. While Austin is house-sitting for their mother, Lee unexpectedly arrives at the home. The brothers soon find themselves feuding and questioning their own decisions in life, each flirting with the possibilty they could lead the other's life.
This is the most well-known play by legendary Amerian playwright Sam Shepard. Characterized by its raw and gritty dialogue, slicing humor, and powerful motifs, True West is a profound examination of family, brotherhood, identity, and the American dream.
