Overview
Hello everyone, and Thank You for visiting Cochiti Pueblo and Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument!
We welcome visitors to once again appreciate the beauty that is Tent Rocks National Monument. To visit Tent Rocks National Monument, a Tribal Access Pass is nowrequiredfor all visitors. While the Tribal Access Pass grants passage through the reservation, access to the reservation itself adjacent the monument is restricted. Our reservation holds deep cultural and spiritual importance to everyone who lives here, purchasing this pass helps in supporting the preservation of our Ancestral Lands and livelihood for generations to come.
Before beginning your trip to Tent Rocks National Monument, please make sure you have already purchased and secured your reservations through Recreation.Gov. This ensures you are able to visit the monument on your desired date. We have implemented a new check-in process that requires you to now start your visit at the Cochiti Pueblo Visitor Center. In the past, visitiors would begin by heading directly to the monument by way of the tribal roads. While we understand this has been the process for many years, it has also led to many conflicts for the tribe and our tribal members.
The new visitation process is as follows:
Secure reservations from Recreation.Gov prior to visiting the monument
Purchase Cochiti Pueblo Tribal Access Pass (make sure dates match on both reservations)
All visitors must check in at the Cochiti Pueblo Visitor Center prior to entry into the Monument.
Check-in will begin at 7:45 a.m. Last check-in will be no later than 1:00 p.m.
Visitors will be led into the Monument by pilot vehicles. The first pilot vehicle will leave at 8:00 a.m. (Pilot vehicles will leave the Visitor Center regularly.)
Last pilot vehicle will leave the Cochiti Pueblo Visitor Center at 1:00 p.m.
Pilot vehicles will escort visitors out of the monument and back to the Cochiti Pueblo Visitor Center.
Visitors are asked to wait for a pilot vehicle to leave the monument (unless there is an emergency).
All visitors must exit the Monument by 4:00 p.m.
We strive to protect the integrity of our tribal lands while facilitating respectful visits to Tent Rocks National Monument. Our mission is to ensure that all visitors have an enjoyable experience at Tent Rocks National Monument, while also understanding the significance of this sacred space.
importance to everyone who lives here, purchasing this pass helps in supporting the preservation of our Ancestral Lands and livelihood for generations to come.
